Welcome to Rabat

Rabat, the capital of Morocco, provides an ideal setting for an international scientific event of this scale. Situated on the Atlantic coast, the city is renowned for its rich historical heritage, part of which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, where ancient remains, medieval monuments, and modern urban development coexist harmoniously.

In the ancient period, Rabat occupied a significant geographical position at the south-western frontier of the Roman province of Mauretania Tingitana and, more broadly, of the Roman Empire. This frontier context gives the area particular scientific relevance to the themes of the Limes Congress.
